Alprazolam.

Alprazolam is an anti-anxiety medication. Alprazolam must not be taken by anyone younger than 18 as the effects of this medicine in that particular age group have not been studied too well yet. Your dose of alprazolam may be changed occasionally, but make sure you take the exact dose and do not change it yourself. If you think alprazolam is not being efficient for you – talk to your health care provider but do not stop the treatment yourself or increase the dose of this drug. Some other drugs you are taking may increase alprazolam side effects (antifungal medications, seizure medication, propoxyphene, birth control pills, isoniazid, antidepressants, diltiazem etc), so always make sure you talk to your doctor about any other medications you are taking at the moment. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice as it can cause interactions and even lead to dangerous effects. Serious side effects are rarely possible and can include muscle twitching, thoughts of suicide, yellowing of the skin or eyes, hyperactivity, hostility, seizure, or hallucinations. However, in most cases alprazolam causes only minor side effects, such as blurred vision, dizziness, forgetfulness, vomiting, dry or watery mouth, nausea, sleep problems, weight changes, trouble concentrating, and drowsiness.
